Ambassadors

The work of our volunteer Ambassadors, which is part of our Governance structure is crucial in connecting our E-ACT academies with the communities we serve. We are proud of the dedication and commitment of our Ambassadors who continue in finding ways to support our academies through stakeholder engagement. The stakeholders are Staff; Community; Students and Parents.
 

Our Ambassadors look at:

  • Community
  • Parents, pupils, and stakeholders
  • Pastoral and safeguarding
  • School experience
  • Pupil conduct
  • Careers and destinations

 

Under the four themed areas of:

  • Feeling Safe

Views on all aspects of safety and well-being when in school or at work, communications, behaviour perceptions.

  • Education 

Preparation for learning, learning quality, CPD, meeting student needs, meeting staff needs, behaviour perceptions, preparedness for next stage of learning.

  • Facilities

Quality of catering, suitability of environment, before and after school clubs, drop off facilities, FSMs.

  • Enrichment

Clubs offered, communications, events in school, new ideas.

 

The Governance team support the networking through regular meetings of the Chairs of Ambassadors with the link Trustee from the Board in addition to each academy having a dedicated Trustee contact.

Ambassadors are essential to finding new ways to collaborate and celebrate with our communities. Each academy will have a Chair and a minimum of 2 parent Ambassadors, with 2 staff Ambassadors and 2 Community Ambassadors. Other members can include alumni members, student council members and key community leaders.

In collaboration with the Chair of the Ambassadors, the Headteacher can agree about whether there should be a maximum number of Ambassadors. This ensures that the Ambassadors can work as effectively and efficiently as possible as a well-coordinated team in holding meetings. 

The role of Ambassadors

Ambassadors play a vital role in connecting each E-ACT academy, its staff and pupils to the communities we serve. The role fully supports our statutory duty in making sure that we listen to and work with our parents, carers and other stakeholders in the community in our uncompromising work to raise aspirations for every E-ACT pupil. Equally celebrating pupil and staff achievement with our communities helps us promote our E-ACT academies. 

Ambassadors are advocates for our pupils and academies and by working with our headteachers and senior leaders, shape and develop the representation of E-ACT academies in the local area and nationally. The parent community needs to understand how we work, the decisions we make and why, and how our senior leaders are securing a high quality of education for all pupils. The role of Ambassadors in sustaining that vital link with our communities should mean that our parents and carers feel well informed about academy developments, the work of Ambassadors and that they have an opportunity to engage with improving the offer for our pupils.
