World Book Day

91Â鶹¾«Æ· had a great time celebrating World Book Day 2025 - a day dedicated to the joy of reading and the magic of books - was marked with a variety of exciting activities planned for our students and staff.

One of the many highlights of the day was Miss Bray's Book Treasure Hunt, an adventurous quest designed to ignite a passion for reading and curiosity amongst students, that relied upon staff and students engaging with one another to collect as many author names from past and present as possible.

Students and staff were also invited to dress up as their favourite book characters or beloved books. This fun and creative tradition allows everyone to express their love for literature in a unique and personal way. It was great to see so many characters and books brought to life in unique ways - special mention to our senior leadership team for their efforts to recreate Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' especially for our year 11s!

As part of our commitment to promoting reading for pleasure, we have distributed World Book Day tokens to all students. These tokens can be exchanged for or used for £1 off a children's book from participating bookshops and supermarkets until 23 March, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to obtain a new book and continue their reading journey. In addition to the free £1 token, over 400 free World Book Day titles were also distributed to students across all year groups.

At 91Â鶹¾«Æ·, World Book Day is more than just an event; it is a annual celebration that reflects our daily commitment to fostering a love of reading. Reading for pleasure is of huge importance to our community, embedded into our culture and valued as an essential skill for life. We believe that a strong reading habit not only enhances academic success but also enriches personal growth and lifelong learning.

Thank you to everyone that helped to make World Book Day 2025 a day to remember.
